全国パーキンソン病友の会とは

全国パーキンソン病友の会は、「すべてのパーキンソン病患者は人間としての尊厳を侵されず、医学の進歩研究に寄与するとともに、療養生活の質の向上と社会啓発活動、相互の支援、親睦、および国内外の関係諸団体との交流を図り、パーキンソン病の根絶を目指して活動すること」を目的とし、患者、家族でつくられた、自主的に活動を行っている団体である。

1. 結成
1976年

2. 構成
都道府県単位の組織で構成し、都道府県を代表する「パーキンソン病友の会」をもって構成しており現在、全国で46都道府県の支部から成り立っている。

3. 事業
上記目的を達成するため次の事業を行っている。
（1） 医療の研究体制の充実化と専門医の多数要請を訴える。
（2） 福祉の向上と関係各法の充足を促す。
（3） パーキンソン病の社会的認識を高める。
（4） 支部の設立と活動の支援をする。
（5） 共通の要求を持つ他団体と連携を強める。
（6） 国外のパーキンソン病に関係する諸団体との連携や交流を進める。
（7） 機関紙を発行する。
（8） その他、本会の目的達成に必要と認める事業を行う。

現在の会員数は、約8,000名である。

Japan Parkinson’s Disease Association (JPDA)

Japan Parkinson’s Disease Association (JPDA) is a organization that pursues volunteer activities, consisting of PD patients and their family members. It has the ideal that all the PD patients should be assured the dignity as human beings and should contribute to the development of medical research. Setting out the eradication of Parkinson’s disease as a goal, it aims to make an effort to attain the high quality of life as patients, intensify activities to raise social awareness, make its step further toward mutual support and friendship, and interact with other organizations at home and abroad.

1.    Establishment

I t was established in 1976.

2.    Structure of the organization

The headquarter of Japan Parkinson’s Disease Association (JPDA) consists of r epresentatives of branches which are located in 46 prefectures out of 47 all over the country. 

3.  Following projects are undertaken in order to reach the target mentioned above,

* appeal to reinforce a medical research system and to increase the number of specialists

* improve social welfare system and its sufficient legislation

*raise the social awareness of Parkinson’s disease

*establish regional branches by which patients’ activities can be supported.

* cooperate with other organizations in pursuit of the same purpose

*cooperate and interact with associations abroad tied to Parkinson’s disease

* publish its in-house journals

*undertake projects required to fulfill the mission upheld at the top

4.    Membership

The membership has totaled 8,000 approximately.
